Canyon Ranch Ladies - on the Hike

Visit with friends Luis Ramirez & Anne Walton-Ramirez

My High School best friend Anne Walton-Ramirez, pregnant with 3rd child due end of summer. Her son Luisito is an avid basketball player. We of course had to shoot some hoops....wish I could dunk like that!

Their daughter Suzie is the girly girl Anne never was. I stood laughing as Anne attempted to satisfy her daughter while "brushing" Suzie's unruley long curly hair. Poor Anne. lol! :p

Spent 1/2 day with Anne as she did her 'working mom' activities of dropping kids off at on-campus day care. Parking and heading up to her Spanish Language Department Assistant Director office, thankfully no open hours the day I was there. An apt with the OBGYN, heard the baby's heartbeat - WOW! Quick lunch just off campus and I was ready for a nap! It was only 85 degrees, that's cool for them. Yes, the dry heat is different. But returning to Phoenix in mid-July I experienced 100degrees at 12midnight! HOT!

FLORA - Plant life, from my perspective

Canyon Ranch, May 2008 on and around the property

At the entrance to CANYON RANCH - Tucson
PALO VERDE TREE- The Arizona State Tree
View from my 'cabin' by the T-pool, room 732. The birds, Jackrabbit, and lots of other animals live comfortably on the property.

The Spa lobby and views of the surrounding mountains. Always an opportunity to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Meditation, deep breathing, lounging, cooling off, whatever you want to call it, Canyon Ranch has a spot for you to do it, and do it well. :)

Some cabins have patios in front, others in back. Always a spot to relax.

Double U cafe, casual dining in or outside overlooking one of the pools and mountain landscape. The modern and always updated bathroom, yes, that's a bathroom.

The art studio is where you can find me during the past two years. Outsdie the studio is this great sap full tree. The sap has run onto the stone wall and left inspiration for the watercolors and pottery pieces I work on. To my delight, I found these types of art work great relaxation. My analytical brain actually goes to sleep a bit while I work in the studio. Phew! :)
cactus flower. Other cacti produce edible flowers, some which were used in the meals.
ok, so not a flower. actually Phoenix airport, leaving vacation...back to the real world. Yes, phoenix. Took shuttle from Tucson to Phoenix to visit Anne's family. See other blog.
